Jay Mitchel was drawn to the legal profession at an early age. Growing up in northwest Oklahoma, he spent time working in his father’s law office, where he saw firsthand how lawyers can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. That early exposure sparked a lifelong interest in helping others.
Jay focuses his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and insurance bad faith cases. Known for his detail-oriented and aggressive approach, he enjoys the investigative side of litigation and is always looking for strategic ways to strengthen a case and maximize recovery for his clients. Over the course of his career, Jay has been part of several significant verdicts and settlements in Oklahoma, including a $130 million bad faith verdict, a $15 million+ bad faith verdict, a $68.5 million personal injury verdict, and numerous $1 million+ settlements.
Jay takes the time to get to know the people he represents, listening carefully to their concerns and goals so he can advocate for them effectively. Jay believes in being honest and transparent with clients and advises them the same way he would advise his own family.
Outside the office, Jay enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. He has explored much of the United States and has also visited several countries across both Europe and Africa.
